The lake is one reason why this town has become a tourist destination. The tranquil waters and scenic views of nature are just what anyone needs to escape from the hustle-and-bustle that comes with city life. Those who come to Cara quickly find themselves escaping into their own little world, at the bottom of the garden, beckoning for a morning stroll around her shores – I spend about 30 minutes and it's very pleasant!
This charming cottage is a relic of Lake Daylesford's early history. Originally built in the 1800s, this tiny house still stands today as it has for hundreds of years despite its age and size. It is thought that the home was originally used to store supplies and became an overnight refuge for weary travellers who could not make their way over the historic bridge that would have taken them back across the lake at nightfall.
Today Cara is set amongst a number of historic and popular Daylesford accommodation villas and holiday homes, the proximity of The Boathouse Restaurant, is a “must visit” where you are sure to enjoy a gorgeous lunch or dinner overlooking the lake
The property is not wheelchair friendly and persons with accessibility needs may find difficulty accessing the bathroom/ensuites.
